I happy you.

Some days it's the easiest thing in the world to be sad. Getting to work late, forgetting lunch, sickly car, spilled milk, grumpy. With wedding plans, work, school, tons of driving, apartment searching, and job hunting...It's easy for me to get overwhelmed and ungrateful. Josh and I make an effort to focus on one another's happiness. Most of the time it is easier to remind another to be happy then it is to remind oneself. We serve as constant reminders to each other of how blessed and lucky we both are. So while I am reminded, I thought it would be a good idea to write a happy list. When ever I am sad, lonely, or moody I can revisit this list and remember. Remember how happy I should be.

My Happy List

1. Family. My current family.  Josh's family. Our future family together.

2. My handsome fella. I am grateful for his constant understanding, love, and patience.

3. The Temple. There are no words adequate enough to describe the peace and joy that comes from going to the temple. I'm thankful that Josh and I will have the chance to be sealed together for time and all eternity in the Dallas, Texas temple.

4. Nature. The world is beautiful. Nature never ceases to amaze me with its simplicity and magic.

5. Love. Love has the power to change lives. I'm thankful for all those who show me love on a daily basis. I'm thankful for the opportunity I have to love others.

6. An understanding, loving, patient Heavenly Father.

7. Food. Yes...food. Most importantly sweets.

8. Good books. I love books that teach me something about myself or the world.

9. Crafts. I love to create.

10. Adventures. I want to spend my life exploring. I am thankful for the adventures I get to enjoy now.

11. My job. It may not be glamorous and it may be at times boring, but I am so grateful for it.

What are you thankful for?

Ferris wheels, bare-feet, and fair games

Josh and my engagement day was perfect. We both agree it's the best day of our lives so far.

After leaving the boardwalk, we headed to the Louisiana state fair. We were cool kids and got wrist bands for unlimited rides. Our first stop was of course the ferris wheel. I love stopping at the top and getting to look out over the entire fair. After walking around for a bit, Josh got talked into playing a fair game. I didn't mind because I got to pick out the prize. I picked out an ugly multi-colored lizard...and I love her.

Earlier in the week I read about giraffes being present at the fair. Josh and I went on a hunt to find them. When we did...I went crazy with excitement. I watched all the little kids feed the blue tongued animal carrots. I was in heaven. After forcing myself away from the giraffes, Josh and I stumbled upon a circus. The first act we saw was a lady who could magically transform outfits in seconds. We were amazed!! No acrobatics or clowns could compare to this wardrobe magic.

Later in the day we stumbled upon a water garden. I took off my shoes and headed straight for the water. My sweet fiance pointed out the no wading sign. I pretended not to see it. We ended our night with dinner at Joes crab shack and a movie.

I would say our first day as an engaged couple was a success.

He stole my heart...so I'm taking his last name

"And i remember, taking you back to right where I first met you,
You were so surprised
There were people around, but I didn't care
Got down on one knee right there."

On 11/11/11 at 11:11am, I became an engaged lady.
Josh took me to our boardwalk. We claim it as our own because it is where we met to go on our first date. It is also where we saw each other for the first time after his two year mission. We started the day with breakfast at I-HOP. We both love breakfast food. During breakfast, Josh hands me a cute cupcake key chain. If you understand how much I love cupcakes, then you will understand how thoughtful this gift was. I love the little random presents he gives me. After breakfast we walked hand in hand all along the boardwalk. We explored every inch of it...and found a carousel. We were the only ones there so we got our pick of carousel animals. We decided on two horses that sat side by side. I wanted to stay on the carousel all day long, but eventually our ride was over. Earlier in the day Josh asked me to write down my 11:11 wish on a piece of paper. The paper was necessary due to the fact that if wishes are said out loud to another person they don't come true. I wrote my wish down and saved it in my pocket. After picture taking, bench cuddling, and lots of laughs; we took a walk by the water. It neared 11:11am so I handed Josh my wish note. My wish was to marry Joshua Miller and be with him for eternity. He then handed me his wish. His wish was to be with me forever. We wished for the same thing. After reading my wish, Josh got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes. He picked out the engagement ring all on his own....and I'm in love with it. Most importantly, I'm madly, deeply, truely in love with my fella.

The entire day was magical. It is my favorite day so far. More details on the rest of our engagement day coming in upcoming posts.
